Speed Wong Racing LLC joins forces with Jason Patison Racing and Lucas Oil Products to field 2 cars in the NASCAR Camping World West Series for the 2008 season. One will be piloted full time by Jason Patison, the other by long time SWR driver Brian Wong.
Jason Patison is the reining Hoosier Tire West champion and has been winning races all over the country in Late Models, Modifieds, and Sprint Cars. After finishing the 2007 ASA Modified season with a series high 4 poles and 5 wins, Jason and team decided it was time to step up into the upper ranks of circle-track racing. As luck would have it, a local NASCAR team was looking to do the same. Speed Wong Racing LLC, located in Santa Ana, CA, and owned by Darryl Wong, and has been competing in local Saturday night NASCAR events. After years of success they also felt they were ready to test their abilities against the top regional NASCAR teams. The two teams turned out to be a perfect fit for each other making the decision obvious.
The series kicks off the year at All American Speedway, in Roseville and then tours the western United States from California to Minnesota. There are 13 races on the Camping World West schedule, followed by the East-West All-Star Showdown at Irwindale Speedway. SWR looks forward to a great season with Jason Patison as the team will not only be competing for the series championship but for Rookie of the Year honors as well. 2008 will be an exciting year, for Jason and SWR to conquer the West level, on their path to the NASCAR Cup Series.
